Student reading scores are falling in Oklahoma. According to the newly-released Nation's Report Card, Oklahoma's fourth grade reading score dropped by one point from 2017 to 2019, while eighth grade reading scores fell by three points. Oklahoma State Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister says the falling scores are due to not teaching reading uniformly across the state.
