Police Identify Woman Captured Throwing Puppies In Dumpster In Coachella

Authorities in California have identified the woman who was captured on surveillance video throwing a bag of puppies into a dumpster behind an auto parts store in the city of Coachella last week.

The woman, whose name has not been released, was seen pulling up behind the store in a Jeep and got out carrying a plastic bag. She walked over to a dumpster used for recycling and tossed the bag in before getting back into her car and driving away.

Luckily, a passerby witnessed what happened and told an employee at the store. They contacted animal control and were able to save the seven puppies. The temperature was in the low 90s that day, and the puppies were near death when animal control officers arrived.

“The good Samaritan played a major role in saving these puppies’ lives,” animal services Commander Chris Mayer said. “His actions were humane and heroic.”

The puppies, which were believed to be about three-days-old, were nursed back to health by a team of veterinarians and given to an animal rescue group.

A law enforcement source told TMZ that the woman will be facing seven charges of animal cruelty and could spend up to six years behind bars if she is convicted.
