New Lawmaker Sworn Into Office

The newest member of the Oklahoma State Senate is 26-year-old Allison Ikley-Freeman, a mental health counselor from Tulsa. She is a Democrat. She was sworn into office Thursday at the State Capitol.

"I am grateful to the citizens of District 37 for trusting me to be their voice in the Senate," she said. "I'm looking forward to promoting legislation to help increase access to quality education and fund public education programs. Ensuring access to health care and mental health care services is also high on my list of priorities while serving in office." (photo provided)
