The Oklahoma City man charged Wednesday with second-degree manslaughter in the mauling death of 82-year-old Cecille Short surrendered early Thursday to authorities at the Oklahoma County jail. Bond for 31-year-old Antwon Burks was set at $10,000. A probable cause affidavit alleges there was a large hole in the gate at Burks' house and it appeared someone tried to cover the hole with old wood and an ice chest. Burks' two dogs escaped last month and killed Short who was walking her dog in the neighborhood near NW 122nd and Council.
