Oklahoma County Clerk Maressa Treat is apologizing for a $14 million bookkeeping error that her office failed to disclose until this month. Treat's office originally discovered the error last fall. Treat explained the error during a budget board meeting yesterday and noted that it was caused by human oversight. Treat noted that the Oklahoma County Jail was already exceeding its budget, which influenced her decision not to disclose the budgeting mistake sooner.
