Severe storms hit Oklahoma City on Friday night (April 3), causing damage at Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC). The campus, located near Interstate 240 and Interstate 44, experienced extensive damage, leading to its closure on Saturday.

The storms caused debris to scatter across parking areas and walkways. A college vehicle had its rear window blown out, and the wellness center suffered major damage with a large section of the roof torn open, resulting in water damage inside the building.

OCCC President Dr. Mautra Jones stated that both interior and exterior damages affected several buildings. She praised the quick response of campus leadership and facilities crews in assessing and addressing the damage. Fortunately, the campus was closed when the storms hit, and no injuries were reported.

The storms were part of a broader weather system that brought large hail, flash flooding, and strong winds across Oklahoma.

More than 3 inches of rain was reported in some areas.

The storms forced the cancelation of the Zach Bryan concert at H.A. Chapman Stadium in Tulsa. The University of Tulsa said refunds would be made and that Saturday night's concert was still scheduled.
