Oklahoma lawmakers are considering creating a new state agency. A proposed bill would consolidate child welfare services into a new agency called the Department of Child Safety and Wellbeing. The new agency would absorb the Office of Juvenile Affairs, part of the Oklahoma Commission of Children and Youth, and the Child Welfare Services division of the Department of Human Services.
