The City of Purcell continues to assess damage from a possible tornado that touched down this morning.

The city says there's roof damage around town, and damage to multiple metal structures. Also, several electric poles were downed. The City says its main priority right now is to get power restored. And a truck driver was injured when a semi flipped on I-35 near Purcell due to high winds. He sustained minor injuries.

In addition to Purcell, there is storm damage reported in other parts of the state. The Holiday Inn Express in Shawnee near the Shawnee Mall had part of its roof torn off. There is building damage at Sheridan and Lee in Lawton and the Fire Department there responded to a fire at MacArthur High School caused by wind damage to air conditioner units on the roof. In Edmond, a tree was struck by lightning and fell on a vehicle near Covell and Broadway resulting in an injury accident. In Wynona, in far northern Oklahoma, a shop building was destroyed and a barn was damaged. A barn was also destroyed north of Guthrie.
