Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt is in Asia. He was in Taiwan earlier this week and before he comes back to Oklahoma, he'll also visit Japan and South Korea. That from his office yesterday. He's calling it a "trade mission" and his office hasn't said how long it will last. He met Monday with Taiwan's President about potential collaboration on aerospace matters, including unmanned aerial systems and drones.

He also signed a memorandum of understanding with Taiwan's minister of economic affairs. Stitt's office says the memorandum is to enhance trade and investment opportunities between drone and unmanned aerial system companies in Taiwan and Oklahoma.

“This Memorandum of Understanding between Oklahoma and Taiwan will enhance trade and investment opportunities between Oklahoma and Taiwan drone and UAS companies. Oklahoma is the most business friendly state in the nation and our energy industry provides critical stability and economic opportunity around the world,” said Gov. Stitt. “The Taiwanese people share Oklahoma’s love of freedom. I look forward to working together to increase trade and investments opportunities in aerospace and energy to advance prosperity for the people of Taiwan and Oklahoma.”
