AG Hunter Asks For OG&E Rate Reduction

OG&E is asking the Oklahoma Corporation Commission for a nearly $78 million dollar annual rate increase, but State Attorney General Mike Hunter says, after a careful review of the company's filing, he believes OG&E should reduce rates by $32 million. OG&E says it is seeking the increase for environmental compliance investments and depreciation on aging equipment, among other expenses. "While we appreciate OG&E's corporate citizenship and dedication to providing reliable service to customers, we believe the numbers submitted by the company are not supported by the data we reviewed," Hunter said.
