A big relief for drivers in Purcell and Lexington. The Oklahoma Department of Transportation says the new half of the U-S Highway 77 bridge over the South Canadian River is now open to eastbound and westbound traffic. A bridge replacement project began last year and drivers have been frustrated by delays. The old bridge will eventually be town down. The bridge remains narrowed to one lane in each direction and no pedestrian access across the bridge will be available through late summer 2019. (photo provided by ODOT)
