Trial Date Set In Opioid Lawsuit

A Cleveland County judge on Thursday set a May 2019 trial date for the state of Oklahoma's lawsuit against opioid manufacturers that accuses them of helping to create the opioid epidemic. State Attorney General Mike Hunter says he appreciates Judge Thad Balkman's urgency getting the case to trial. "Rather than dragging it out longer, which is what the drug companies had requested, Oklahomans who have suffered immeasurably from the years of fraudulent marketing campaigns will see this case resolved sooner rather than later," Hunter said.
