Mandatory evacuations are underway in northeast Norman because of a fast-moving wildfire. The fire is located between 108th and 120th Avenue NE. People living in the following areas are being asked to leave their homes: Torrans Lane, Prairie Lane, Mary Lane, Tallywood, Mystic Land and Bethel Road east of 108th NE. This is a rural area where the fire is moving quickly because of the dry vegetation and strong winds. No homes have been burned but some outbuildings have been charred by the fire. The National Guard is using a Blackhawk helicopter to drop water on the fire from a nearby pond..
