Gov. Stitt Reverses Decision, Denies Parole For Convicted Killer

Governor Kevin Stitt is reversing his decision to grant parole to a convicted murderer on death row. The governor announced Thursday that he will not parole Jimmie Stohler after his office was given new information that was previously unavailable. Stitt had approved parole for Stohler on Wednesday following a clemency recommendation by the Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board. Stohler was sentenced to death for killing 30-year-old Michele Powers with a crossbow in 1982.
