98 Oklahomans Suffer Salmonella Infection Linked To Onions

Almost one-hundred Oklahomans have been sickened with salmonella as part of a nationwide outbreak linked to onions. The State Health Department says 98 people have been infected in Oklahoma, one of 37 states that have reported cases. Federal investigators believe the onions were imported from Chihuahua, Mexico, and distributed to many of the restaurants connected to the outbreak by ProSource Inc. The FDA is asking Americans to avoid fresh whole red, white or yellow onions supplied by ProSource before August 28th, and to throw away any unlabeled red, white or yellow onions at home.
