The Oklahoma State Board of Education is taking over the operations of the Western Heights Public Schools District. Under the intervention plan adopted yesterday, the state will take over the district for a year and appoint an interim superintendent. The district was given 90 days to fix several complaints, and the board voted last month to suspend Western Heights School District Superintendent Mannix Barnes' superintendent certification.
