The rising temperatures and humidity are causing health issues for some Oklahoma City residents. Officials said paramedics responded to nine heat-related calls on Wednesday, when EMSA issued the first heat alert of the year. Emergency crews say the best tips to stay protected from the summer heat are to stay hydrated, wear light-colored clothing, and take plenty of breaks.
