Suspect Charged After Officer-Involved Shooting

A man who was injured in an officer-involved shooting in Del City is facing criminal charges. Twenty-eight-year-old Kenneth Simmons was booked for petty larceny and battery with a dangerous weapon. Simmons was shot by an off-duty Langston University police officer on Saturday at the Del City Walmart during an incident that started when Simmons allegedly tried to leave the store without paying for a television. The shooting took place when the officer allegedly tried to wrestle Simmons out of his vehicle.
