Oklahoma City Official Proposes Policing Changes

An Oklahoma City councilman is proposing police department changes. City Councilman James Cooper announced yesterday that he wants to amend the proposed 226 million dollar police budget. Cooper says he has six proposals including expanding crisis intervention training for the police department, expanding homeless outreach, and giving police officers greater access to mental health care. He also proposed funding an expansion of the police outreach program and creating an office of neighborhood safety and violence interruption.
