The State Senate approved a bill this week to give court reporters a $2,000 pay increase.
There are 171 court reporters in Oklahoma. Senator Roger Thompson of Okemah says because their salary is set in statute they didn't get a pay raise last year like other state employees. He says that is a technicality that needs to be corrected.
