Joe Exotic Indicted On Federal Charges

His nickname is 'Joe Exotic'.

55-year-old Joseph Maldonado-Passage has been indicted by an Oklahoma City federal grand jury on two counts of hiring a person to commit murder. He runs the exotic animal park in Wynnewood. He was arrested today in Florida.

The indictment alleges he hired an unnamed person for $3,000 to travel to Florida and kill "Jane Doe". He allegedly agreed to pay more after the murder was carried out. Eventually another person put him in contact with an undercover FBI agent and "Jane Doe" was not harmed.  If Maldonado-Passage is found guilty of murder-for-hire, he could be sentenced on each count up to ten years in prison.

Maldonado-Passage is a former candidate for governor of Oklahoma. He also ran for President in 2016.
