Damage is widespread after a large tornado hit in the Enid area on Thursday night.

Survey teams have tentatively categorized the twister as an EF4. It was one of several tornadoes to be reported in the Enid and Braman areas.

“Last night, our community faced a serious test.” said Enid Mayor David Mason. “A tornado caused significant damage to the Gray Ridge Neighborhood and southern parts of Enid. I am very grateful to report that while homes have sustained significant damage, there have been no fatalities and only minor injuries sustained.”

The American Red Cross shelter is open at 111 W. Purdue Ave, Enid, OK 73701 for those that are in need of care.

If your home or business was damaged, please report the damages to damage.ok.gov.

Mayor Mason said the response nonprofits, residents, and local businesses has been immediate and generous.
