The Oklahoma Supreme Court on Friday ruled a petition to overturn a package of tax hikes intended to fund teacher pay raises is invalid. The Court ruled the petition was misleading and fatally flawed and ordered that it not appear on an election ballot. The Court added, however, that nothing prevents the group Oklahoma Taxpayers Unite! to fix flaws with the petition and circulate a new petition but time is running out. The group would have to file a new petition and gather more than 41,000 signatures by July 18.
