Paddlefish Record

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation has certified a new state paddlefish record. The paddlefish snagged by Larry Morphew of Yale on Sunday April 29 weighed 132 pounds 8 ounces, beating the old record by 7 pounds 1 ounce. Morphew released the massive fish back into the Arkansas River near Blackburn. He says it was his first paddlefishing trip, the first paddlefish he ever caught, and he snagged it on his first cast of the day! (photo provided)
