New Training Academy

The Oklahoma Department of Corrections has begun its first training academy for correctional officers at the new Wilson Training Center in Wilson, Oklahoma. The facility is the former Carter County Work Center. The new facility is equipped to host up to 72 recruits each 8-week academy. "The agency's goal is to provide the best available training to our officers who are putting their lives on the line every time they walk into a prison," said DOC director Joe Allbaugh.
