The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority is moving forward in the legal process of acquiring property for the ACCESS Oklahoma Turnpike project.
The OTA voted yesterday to approve a Resolution of Necessity.
The resolution is a legal step for the turnpike authority to go through property condemnation proceedings.
The properties in question are in the path of where they need to build the east-west connector in Cleveland and McClain counties, along with widening projects for the Will Rogers and Turner Turnpikes. Shearer-Salim said they’re getting close to needing access to those spots.
The turnpike authority is continuing to negotiate with landowners who live in the path of the proposed project.
