Oklahoma students will be required to keep phones and smart devices put away during school hours under a new state law taking effect this year. The 'bell to bell, no cell' policy bans electronic devices from the start of the school day to the final bell, with exceptions for emergencies and medical needs. School districts like OKCPS, Yukon, Mustang, and Guthrie have each adopted their own versions of the policy, some going further by banning recordings without consent. The law also covers smartwatches, earbuds, and other Wi-Fi connected devices.
