Two people are in custody in connection to a hit-and-run on Wednesday that sent a ten-year-old boy to the hospital. It happened in Shawnee at the intersection of Bonita and Highland, where authorities say the victim was struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle. The driver, identified as 27-year-old Asa Strong, is charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving injury. One of the passengers in the vehicle, identified as 33-year-old Shashana Wapskineh, is charged with obstruction after allegedly lying to authorities about the wreck. The victim suffered a fractured hip and another fracture in his lower spine, but is expected to be ok.
