State employees are considering walking off the job with teachers to force the Legislature to give them a pay raise. The Oklahoma Public Employees Association board of directors plans to meet Saturday to consider a work stoppage. "State employees are tired of being ignored and are angry because state leaders have failed to do their job," said OPEA executive director Sterling Zearley. "A state employee's take-home pay shrinks every year and they are fed up with lawmakers who won't listen. That's why we're looking at work stoppages. Just like teachers, state employees are fed up and ready for action."
