I hear it just about every show, "Where the hell does the lottery money go?", or, "I thought the lottery was supposed to solve our education problems?". Well, turns out the lottery doesn't bring in as much money for education as you would think. SURPRISE!
HERE'S HOW THE MONEY BREAKS DOWN:
45% goes to K-12 (and somehow we wills till pay more taxes to pay teachers?)
39.5% goes to higher education. (and yet we still see tuition hikes every year!)
5.5% goes to careertech. (If you ask me we should balance that out more with higher ed)
5% goes to the teacher's retirement system. (funny, I have to pay for my retirement!)
5% goes to the school consolidation and assistance fund (fully consolidate and you won't need it!)
