Oklahoma's largest cities, Oklahoma City and Tulsa, are facing challenges in eco-friendly living. According to a study released Wednesday by financial marketplace WalletHub, Tulsa ranks 75th and Oklahoma City ranks 90th among the country's 100 largest cities for eco-friendly living. The study highlights environmental quality as a significant issue for both cities.

The report points to car-heavy development and transportation emissions as persistent problems in OKC and Tulsa. These factors contribute to lower rankings in environmental quality, which is a crucial component of the study's evaluation. Both cities' planning documents acknowledge these challenges and emphasize the need for improvements in sustainable transportation and urban planning.

Despite these challenges, efforts are underway to address these issues. OKC and Tulsa are working on initiatives to improve public transportation and reduce emissions. However, these changes take time and require significant investment and community support.
