A fallen Edmond police officer is laid to rest. Funeral services took place yesterday for Sergeant C.J. Nelson. Nelson was killed in a five-vehicle crash last Tuesday, and he was the first Edmond police officer to die in the line of duty. The man accused of causing the deadly accident, 54-year-old Jay Fite, is facing complaints of second-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter.
