Oklahoma officials are working to address a teacher shortage. State Superintendent Joy Hofmeister says that they are working to ensure that qualified people can teach in Oklahoma without facing obstacles caused by state-specific certification requirements. Hofmeister says educators and teaching candidates have access to more than 40 subject tests through the Praxis online teacher certification program. She says Praxis will allow educators to become certified in new topics, which will make it easier for them to take roles that are harder to fill.
