Governor Kevin Stitt is calling for a special session of the state legislature to pass tax relief measures for Oklahomans. In a press conference yesterday, the governor said lawmakers must repeal the sales tax on groceries and cut personal income taxes to combat rising costs on basic needs. The governor noted that Oklahoma is one of only 13 states that taxes groceries, and said now is the time to end the practice. The special session would begin on June 13th.
