The Oklahoma House passed a Senate sex education bill yesterday with a new amendment aimed at school bathrooms. The bill requires school counselors in the state to tell parents when they would teach students about sexual orientation and gender identity, and allow the parents to inspect the learning materials being used. The amendment added by the House would mandate schools to designate public restrooms only by biological sex. The bill is now headed back to the State Senate for approval of the amendment.
