Oklahoma will no longer amend state birth certificates. Governor Kevin Stitt signed an executive order this week and said that the Oklahoma State Department of Health does not have the legal ability to alter a person's gender or sex on a birth certificate under state law. The governor also encouraged the stage legislature to pass a law that clarifies that a change in sex or gender on a birth certificate or a designation of non-binary contradicts state law.
