Oklahoma's Commissioner of Health has resigned. Dr. Lance Frye took over the agency in May of last year in the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic response. In his resignation, he said it has been an honor to serve Oklahoma and advance public health for all Oklahomans. Governor Kevin Stitt commended Frye, saying he provided steady leadership during Oklahoma's COVID response and has positioned the Oklahoma State Department of Health to continue managing COVID effectively. Deputy Commissioner Keith Reed will serve as interim commissioner of health while a search for a replacement is underway.
