The Oklahoma Board of Education is reporting what is being called an "alarming" drop in this year's test scores. State officials say language arts and math scores went down about 10%, while science scores decreased 5%. The test scores are being compared to 2019, since there was no testing in 2020. State Superintendent Joy Hofmeister said the decline in test scores are a direct result of the pandemic and warned the effects of COVID will still be around as long as younger students are unable to be vaccinated.
