The Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board is recommending that the sentence for death row inmate Julius Jones be commuted. Jones was convicted for the 1999 murder of Edmond businessman Paul Howell, but he always maintained his innocence. The final decision to remove Jones from death row is up to Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt.
