A mask mandate is now in effect for Ponca City Public Schools. The school board voted unanimously to require masks yesterday after a rise in COVID cases in the district. According to KOCO, 125 in-school positive cases were reported in the first few weeks of the school year, compared to 18 in the same time frame last year. The district says the mask requirement is an effort to keep students in school as safely as possible.
