COVID-19 case numbers are rising among Oklahoma children. From August 22nd through August 28th, 24% of new COVID-19 cases in the state were among children from five-to-11-years-old and from 12-to-17-years-old. State Superintendent Joy Hofmeister says the number of children hospitalized with COVID-19 statewide has ranged from 40 to 65 since schools reopened, and she is encouraging eligible students to get vaccinated.
