Several reproductive rights groups are filing a lawsuit against the State of Oklahoma over new abortion restrictions passed earlier this year. Among the laws set to take effect in November are a ban on abortions after a heartbeat is detected unless the mother's life is in danger, along with a limit on who can perform abortions to board-certified OB/GYNs. The lawsuit claims the laws are unconstitutional, with advocates saying it would end abortion access in Oklahoma. Among the plaintiffs in the suit are the Center for Reproductive Rights and the Planned Parenthood Federation of America.
