A mask mandate is now in effect for Oklahoma City Public Schools. Superintendent Doctor Sean McDaniel made the announcement Friday, stating that masks are now required on school property, in school vehicles, and at school-sponsored events regardless of vaccination status. Oklahoma law prohibits school boards from implementing a mask mandate, but superintendents can still issue the requirement. McDaniel said more than 100 OKCPS students and employees have tested positive for COVID over the first three days of classes.
