Governor Stitt is being ordered to reinstate enhanced unemployment benefits in Oklahoma. An Oklahoma County district judge granted a preliminary injunction Friday in a lawsuit filed against the state over the end of the weekly 300-dollar payments. The governor announced the end of federal benefits from the CARES Act in May, stating that the extra money was disincentivizing people from working. Those who filed the suit argued that about 74-thousand Oklahomans are still in need of the benefits. The judge said the governor cannot withdraw from the federal program until a final judgment is made next month.
