A black bear found in a Norman backyard was shot and killed following a confrontation with wildlife officials. The Department of Wildlife Conservation was called Wednesday after the bear had fallen out of a tree outside of a home near Berry and Lindsey. Crews tried to sedate the animal with several tranquilizers, but were unable to keep it down. The bear was shot after it moved to the other side of the backyard and was deemed a "danger to the public." An investigation is underway to find out where the bear came from.
