The Oklahoma State Medical Examiner's Office says a jail inmate died last year from a flesh-eating disease. Lesley Hendrix collapsed while taking a shower in a Canadian County jail last October and was taken to the hospital where she later died. Officials say Hendrix went into septic shock and respiratory failure from the disease. Hendrix was in custody on a first-degree murder charge for the death of a toddler she was babysitting. The case had not gone to trial yet.
