Norman Protesters Speak Out Against Police Budget Cuts

Protestors are demanding that funding be restored to the Norman Police Department. A "Back the Blue" protest took place last night at Andrews Park as residents spoke out against recent budget cuts for police. The Norman City Council voted last week to cut the police department's budget by $865,000 after Norman Citizens for Racial Justice called on city leaders to defund and demilitarize the department.
