Oklahoma City residents are celebrating a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that makes it illegal to someone to be fired because of their gender identity or sexual orientation. A crowd gathered yesterday evening on 39th Street in northwest Oklahoma City to celebrate the ruling. The event outside the Diversity Center of Oklahoma was hosted by several groups including the OKC chapter of Black Lives Matter, the ACLU and Freedom Oklahoma. The Supreme Court ruled six-to-three that firing someone because of their gender identity or sexual orientation violated the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
