Concealed carry in courthouse bill passes Senate

An elected county official with a handgun license would be able to carry a concealed handgun into the courthouse in the county where he or she was elected under a state House bill passed by the Senate Tuesday.

The measure would not let the official carry the handgun into a courtroom.

The measure passed 38-to-6.
