DNA leads authorties to cold-case murder suspect

A DNA hit leads U.S. marshals and members of the Oklahoma City Police Gangs Unit to a suspect in the cold-case murder of an elderly woman during a home invasion nearly four years ago.

Robert Leon Hashagen, 53, was arrested in the 1600 block of SW 3 and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail late Tuesday on a first-degree murder complaint in the July 2013 death of Evelyn Goodall, 94.

Police found Goodall during a welfare check at her home in northwest Oklahoma City.

"She was brutally attacked," said police M.Sgt. Gary Knight. "Two days after being discovered, she died at an area hospital."

A motive for Goodall's assault has not been released.

Hashagen is being held without bond.
